Alpine Bread Co.

A while ago Brooke e-mailed the mom's about this bread co. and their super deals on day old bread. I finally got to go check it out this morning and got some great deals! Every morning, but especially Fridays because the selection is better, they have their day old bread...2/$1.00!!! (They sell in the stores for about $3-5.00/loaf) I got Oat Bran, Whole Wheat Honey, Jalapeno Cheddar, Bread Bowls (for soup), and sliced dinner bread...they have many other kinds, but that's all my freezer will hold for now. :) They also have pastries marked down too. I got a really yummy blueberry cake/bread loaf for 99c. Here's their website to check it out...

They open at 9am, but to get first selection you should be there around 8:30-40...if you're not picky about the specialty breads and just want some good white/wheat bread you could probably go later and still get some good deals. :) ...and bring a bag or two. I forgot and it was really hard to hold everything! ;)

Their bread is amazing. I discovered their shop about a year ago. We go every few weeks and stock up the freezer too! Previously I had been paying $7 for two loaves at Costco. This is my favorite brand of whole wheat bread. Most others taste like cardboard...

I haven't tried getting their early. Next time... I like the idea of getting a better selection. The kids have been asking for Cranberry Spice again!

It is such a great store. Unfortunately I went one morning, lugged Noah out of his car seat, and walked into the store and there was nothing! But a lot of people with tables, and bags, full of bread...so thank you for the tip to go early! Maybe I will join you one morning Jen, then we can hop down to Starbucks for a morning coffee!!?

Hey Jen, thanks for writing about this. I usually buy Alpine bread at costco for $8/2 loaves, and then found it at superstition market for about $2.50/loaf. What a great deal to give this a try. Where is the bakery? I looked at the website and didn't see it on there.
Thanks!

Good going Jen! Money Saving Mom would be proud... I think you should change your site name to 'Cardinal Cents'... Would you pick me up some bread loaves next time you are there? I'll pay you back with coupons :o) j/k about the coupons!
