Our Flagstaff getaway

This past weekend we were able to get away to Flagstaff for a night and enjoy some cooler weather...YEAH!!! :)  We went to a Children's Festival when we arrived into town and then, after naps and a yummy dinner at Bun Huggers, Nate, Alyssa and I went to see Chris Tomlin at an outdoor amphitheater in the middle of the woods, while Emi got to have a sleepover with the Williams crew.  The next day we got to go on a hike (our first with the girls) with the McKenney's and the Williams' and then later that day we all went to see the Cardinals practice.  It was such a fun quick getaway.

The Children's Art & Music Festival:

Alyssa got to go on stage with the local theater company.  She loved it!  They had them act out different emotions.

...and then she got to go back on stage again!  I think she could have stayed up there all day.

I used to love the parachute when I was little, so I was so excited they took it out for the kids to play with!

Alyssa has been waiting all summer to get her swimsuit on and go outside and play in the rain. I was so excited last week when it was raining during the day!  We were on our way home and I told her as soon as we get home, go inside and get your swimsuit on, and we'll go outside and play in the rain....Emi got her rain boots on! :)  Okay, so we get all ready and rush outside, and guess what???  It STOPPED raining. :(  We stayed outside a couple minutes and it did start drizzling again, so they were happy with that.  I hope she gets to go out in pouring rain though sometime this summer! :)

At home we don't have a computer with a mouse (I finally bought one that attaches to our laptop, but I never remember to get it out), so when we go to the library she is very intrigued with what all the kids are doing on the computer.  This week we went and there was no one there so I was able to get Alyssa on a computer and let Emi play for a little bit...and she did GREAT!  She listened to the game instructions all by herself, figured out how to use the mouse, and played the game.  :)

Our 1st trip to the Children's Museum!

Last week we were able to finally check out the Children's Museum downtown...and it was SO much fun!  I think we could have stayed there all day (if the kids AND the moms didn't need naps!) and not have gotten bored at all.  I can't wait to go back!!! :)

They had some really cool bikes for the kids to play on...Alyssa did a really good job pulling Emi...and Emi loved the ride!
